scuba divingScuba diving in turkey is relatively new but is developing along with the tourist industry in Turkey. The warm weather in Turkey makes it possible all year round although the diving season begins in April when the average water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Turkey is 18C. The height of the season in Turkey is in August when the waters reach temperatures of 30C. Turkey offers a wide variety of scuba diving options including reef diving, wall diving, cavern diving and wreck diving. Scuba schools operate at most big resorts so you can get trained if you aren’t already a scuba diver.

Dive sites in turkey

Although there are some scuba diving sites on the Black Sea resorts of Turkey, diving in Turkey is especially popular around the Mediterranean and Aegean seas. Most tourist resorts on the Southern coast of Turkey have dive sites and offer scuba diving trips. Some of the most popular sites in Turkey include Alanya, Antalya, Bodrum, Kas, Marmara, Fethiye and Gallipoli. All of these resorts have plenty of non diving related things to do, including yachting & sailing. The standard of scuba diving centres conforms to international standards with PADI certified diving centres at most tourist resorts.

Marine life

One of the good things about scuba diving sites in Turkey is that the water is clear and warm, with a variety of sea life to be seen, including Barracuda, Sea bream and Octopus. Antalya offers a particularly good wreck diving opportunity as this is where a Second World War hospital ship sank.

Why not take advantage of all the great late deals to Turkey that are on offer throughout the internet.
