It was announced yesterday (3rd August 2011) that Holidays4u had ceased trading. Based in Brighton, Holidays4u specialised in holidays to Turkey and also traded as Aegean Flights. According to the administrator the company had “suffered because of difficulties faced by the travel industry as a result of the economic downturn”. It is believed that there are 13,000 people on holiday abroad at the present moment with Holidays4u and around 50,000 – 60,000 holidaymakers with future bookings over the peak season.

All package holidays and flights booked through Holidays4U are now cancelled and customers are advised not to go to the airport. You will need to claim for a refund from the CAA on package holidays and flights. If booked through a travel agent and if flights and accommodation was booked separately you will need to speak to the travel agent to see if they can help you to re-arrange your holiday.

Holidaymakers already abroad in Turkey and any other destinations with Holidays4u are advised to proceed to checkout for their flights home as normal as the CAA will ensure that any customers currently abroad can continue on their holiday as planned. If hoteliers ask for payment for the accommodation (which holidaymakers will have already paid to Holidays4u) the CAA has requested that all receipts should be kept and claimed back via the CAA on their return.
